Catskill Cool Kids!
Wawayanda campers don’t let heatwaves interrupt their fun!
Over the next couple of days we are expecting some warm weather here in the Catskills and so our mission is to remain cool and hydrated as much as possible. Yesterday at hangout we had some fun splashing around with hoses and paddling pools and waterfront was busier than ever with most taking the opportunity to chill out in Lake Cole.
As well as regular water breaks throughout programming we encourage campers to drink as much as possible at their meal times, with one Forest Cabin managing 7 whole pitchers at dinner alone last night! Today, we are going for a mandatory rest hour straight after lunch where campers are encouraged to lie on their bunks and read or take a cat nap or just chat with their cabin mates and counselors in an attempt to conserve some energy and relax.
It’s definitely warm….but we are as cool as ever here in Wawa!
