Frost Valley YMCA is excited to introduce Jessie Emmons as the new Community Programs Director. Jessie will oversee all of Frost Valley’s Day Camp programs, free community events, and after-school childcare at Tri-Valley Elementary School.
Jessie has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and has been working with youth for 13 years. She has extensive experience in running both overnight and day camps, as well as before and after school programs for YMCA of Michiana.
Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, her love for the Y began when she was just six years old as a second-generation camper at YMCA Camp Eberhart in Three Rivers, Michigan. At 17 she joined the staff, spending six full summers at camp and three years working in Outdoor Education.
After graduating college, Jessie transitioned to the South Bend branch and began overseeing after-school and day camp programming full-time. Within four years, she was overseeing all youth development programs and had expanded their Day Camp program from one site to four.
“We are thrilled to add Jessie to our team of staff members,” said Jerry Huncosky, Chief Executive Officer of Frost Valley YMCA. “Her leadership, professional experience, and positive attitude are sure to enhance the experience of the children in our day camp, after-school programs, and community events,” he explained.
Local families and members are invited to come meet Jessie in person and learn all about the programs available at Frost Valley YMCA. Join us for a free Meet and Greet on Tuesday, May 8th from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Daniel Pierce Library in Grahamsville. We look forward to seeing you there!
