Raising the Bar for Children and Families: Northeast YMCA Camping Conference

Here at Frost Valley we just wrapped another Northeast YMCA Camping Conference and we are so honored to have hosted this event once again. The learning and development that takes place at this conference ensures that YMCA Camps set the standard for the industry of camping.

The event kicked off with an inspiring and informative keynote from the Connecticut Camp Guys, a professional consulting group that focuses on camp consulting, camp trainings, professional workshops, teambuilding sessions, leadership workshops, and inspiring keynote addresses like the one they shared with us Monday evening! We learned the top ten camp staff training ideas, which are so vital for fostering a successful camp environment.

The past three days have been FILLED with sessions on topics like:

increasing youth character outcomes
bullying prevention
magical dining hall experiences
first day of camp orientations
fostering achievement through engaging programming
effectively leading young staff
risk management
waterfront and ropes course safety
and so so so much more!

The event wrapped up with an inspiring talk from Dr. Deborah Gilboa, a.k.a. Ask Doctor G. Dr. Gilboa is renowned parenting and youth development expert, speaker and author, and hearing her speak about developing confidence, competence, responsibility, and relationships at camp inspired everyone to put into action everything they learned at this incredible conference.
