Disc Golf Tournament to be Held at Frost Valley YMCA September 1-2, 2018

Frost Valley YMCA is excited to announce that its disc golf course will once again be the venue for a Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) level tournament. The tournament takes place from September 1-2, 2018.

The tournament hosted by Adam Harris, aptly named “Return to Frost Valley,” is a two-round, two-day, tee time PDGA C Tier event. There will be one round per day with tee times made available Saturday by request. On Sunday, tee times will be based on the division and the scores given on Saturday.

Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a set of flying discs. A golf disc is thrown from a tee area to an elevated metal basket, which is the “hole.” The object of the game is to complete each hole in the fewest throws.

Fees for the tournament range from $40 to $60 depending on the division of the player and whether or not a participant is a member of the PDGA. For more information or to register for the event, go to https://bit.ly/FVDiscGolf.

Community members who would like to use Frost Valley’s disc golf course outside of a tournament setting may purchase a day pass to use the course on Saturdays with the exception of summer camp session dates — July 1, 2018 through August 24, 2018 and during the winter when it will be closed.
