Will we be expected to share a yurt/room with a family that we do not know?

Unless you specifically request to share a room or yurt with another family, we would not book two separate families into shared lodging. This is part of the reason that lodging at East Valley Ranch is so limited.

Can my family come any weekend?

On our specialty weekends and weeks we have set aside lodging and designed programming especially for families. On other weekends, we welcome guests, including family reunions or groups of 12 or more people.

Will there be times when my children and I can do separate activities?

We do offer several types of programming. Some are children-only, so parents are able to do something on their own. For all other activities not specified as children-only, at least one adult is required per group of children.

What happens when the weather is uncooperative?

We have a “weather alternative” schedule for each day of programming. We suggest you come prepared for inclement weather, but we may change the schedule to provide the best programming possible. As soon as the weather returns to normal, will return to our regular program schedule.

What if different family members have different horse abilities?

We gear lessons to a rider’s ability as much as possible. Trail rides are walking only and we are usually able to send families out together. We have wonderful horses of all ages, sizes, and abilities, and we work
