3 canoes on lake cole

Eat. Sleep. Climb. Repeat.

As campers awoke in their respective campsites they knew that today would be yet another beautiful day in the Catskills.

Backpackers awoke in their lean-to to rays of sun filtering through boughs of hemlock. After breakfast they put on their backpacks and hit the Cornell-Wittenberg-Slide Trail. They hiked the four and a half miles to Woodland Valley where they met up with the Giant’s Ledge-Panther Mt Trail an 8 mile hike in all.

Bikers started early again and continued to explore the carriage roads of Minnewaska and Mohonk Preserve. At this point their probably expert bikers!

Eat. Sleep. Climb. Repeat. As experienced crag rats our climbing mini trip campers know the drill. And they are LOVING IT!!!!! Today was filled with seemly endless routes of the Shawangunk Sedimentary.

Our canoeing mini trip is continuing to make history as they paddled through the Pepacton Reservoir. They paddled about 7 miles today.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
