Farm Camp Session Four
No Monday blues here. Last night we celebrated the beginning of camp with a campfire. People performed skits and songs! Someone even brought their dresser out of their yurt and used it as a drum set!
The first full day is officially underway. Campers spend today signing up for their weekly activities and learning how the flow of the day works. They will participate in four specialties while they are here, two per week. Specialties last 4/5 days and focus on one topic or skill.
Some of this week’s specialties:
Barn: anything from goat yoga to cow anatomy!
Garden: hands on experience in the garden, harvesting and learning about what we grow.
Gnome & Fairy Home Building: spending time out in the woods and creating small model homes out of resources found in the woods.
Hiking: each day they will take a different path and explore.
Needle Felting: using wool to create 3-d art pieces.
Outdoor Living Skills: practicing and learning different techniques that enable you to both respect and experience nature simultaneously.
Ancient Greek Sports: creating and playing exciting games based on what we know about Ancient Greece.
Tonight for evening program we will play Boppers! A game involving a riddle to solve, socks full of flour, and lots of silly challenges. Basically in order to uncover the secret message players have to perform tasks such as singing, leap frog, hula hooping, and anything our counselors can dream up.
Hope your Monday is as fun as Farm Camp’s Monday!
