Frost Valley YMCA’s administration and dining services partner with the Town of Denning to support local families in need of meal assistance. Each year since 2016, local families without much food, elderly individuals living alone, people without transportation, and those with serious illnesses receive nutritious meals through the meal delivery program. Now, with many families being impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, Frost Valley would like to remind all Town of Denning residents who are facing new challenges or know someone in town who is that this program remains available.
Participating families and individuals receive frozen meals from the Denning Town Hall. These meals are delivered weekly on Wednesdays for participants to pick up. Deliveries may be available for those with transportation issues.
Frost Valley YMCA, a year-round camp and retreat center in Claryville, prepares the meals in its state-of-the-art kitchen and works with local volunteers who help distribute the meals to the Town Hall.
Any Denning residents who find themselves financially affected by the COVID-19 outbreak or who lack access to grocery stores are encouraged to apply through the Denning Town Hall. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 985-2411 for more information.
Additionally, Frost Valley recently donated twelve dozen farm-fresh eggs from its Educational Farm in Claryville to The Neversink General Store. The eggs will be used to assist in efforts to feed schoolchildren who typically count on school lunches for sustenance. School-aged children can receive a free, tasty egg sandwich from The Neversink General Store at any time during store hours.
