Frost Valley YMCA Announces Limited Spots Available in its Farm and Horse Day Camps
There may only be a few weeks left of summer, but there are still plenty of opportunities for your child to have a memorable, educational summer day camp experience. Frost Valley YMCA has a limited number of openings in its Farm Day Camp and its One-Week Try-It Horse Day Camp, which take place August 26 – 30, 2019.
Animal lovers can get hands-on experience with horses during Frost Valley’s One-Week Try-It Day Camp, which is available for children entering second grade and up. Designed for campers of all skill levels, this special one-week program will give campers the opportunity to spend half of each day at the barn riding and learning all about horse health and care. For the remainder of their day, campers will participate in a variety of exciting, traditional camp activities including: swimming, boating, hiking, climbing, archery, sports and games, and much more.
Children entering Kindergarten through eighth grade can care for a variety of animals in addition to learning all about gardening at Farm Day Camp. Campers will learn what it means to be a steward of the earth while enjoying a week on Frost Valley’s 515-acre Educational Farm tending to a barn full of animals and harvesting crops from the garden. Additionally, campers will enjoy a wide-array of traditional camp activities including: swimming, boating, archery, arts and crafts, and more.
Limited bus transportation is available for an additional fee from Monticello Government Center, Liberty Elementary School, Neversink Bus Garage, Neversink Town Hall, Claryville Church, and Big Indian Park. Parents looking to give their child a positive, safe, and enriching summer camp experience can find more information on the Day Camp page of our website.
Since programs are filling quickly, parents are encouraged to register right away to ensure their child’s spot. Financial assistance is available. To register your child for day camp, call 845-985-2291 ext. 306, register online, or email registrar@frostvalley.org.
