What precautions is Frost Valley taking in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19?
Frost Valley is working with the guidance of the Department of Health to take reasonable safety precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Some of these measures include limiting the number of reservations to allow for physical distance between occupied lodging sites. Social distancing as well as face coverings are required when appropriate.
Guests will also be asked to complete a brief health questionnaire prior to arriving at Frost Valley and a temperature check will be performed onsite before each guest enters the property. Guests will be encouraged to wash their hands frequently and use the hand-sanitizing stations that will be located throughout the property when hand washing is not possible.
Is there Cell Phone service or Wifi?
While there is no cell reception at Frost Valley; however, on Main Camp we do have internet stations available for our guests joining us through the family lodging program. Learn more about internet stations

Should I bring firewood with me?
No, bringing firewood from offsite is prohibited to prevent the spread of invasive species. Each family will receive a bundle of firewood and additional bundles will be available for purchase.
Will there be meals?
Our dining hall and services will be closed during this period, and families are encouraged to bring their own food. Ice is available for purchase onsite to keep your food cold. You will also have the option to purchase family-sized meal boxes (hamburgers, hot dogs, vegetarian options, and s’mores ingredients) for cooking at your lodging site, which will be delivered to you. All sites are equipped with campfire rings and grill grates for cooking. You will also be provided with a table and chairs at your lodging site for dining.
You may also bring a portable grill, camping stove, or minifridge (depending on lodging type). Please do not bring electric hotpots or anything that could pose a fire hazard in your lodge. Frost Valley can also provide you with a list of local grocery stores, convenient stores, delis, and dining establishments that offer take out.
Is there a packing list available?
Do we have to stay Tuesday – Sunday?
Guests are welcome to stay for longer or shorter periods of time. However, Frost Valley cannot offer a pro-rated fee for families who choose to stay for fewer days. To thank our guests who are staying with us longer, an additional fee for Saturday(s) will not be applied. Cleaning services will not be offered for guests staying longer than 5 nights.
How long will this program run?
Frost Valley is currently planning to run lodging reservations from July 7th through September 13th with the exception of the week of Summer Family Camp, which is still scheduled to run August 23-28, 2020. Due to limited availability, we recommend making reservations right away to ensure your spot. Please call our Reservations Department at 845-985-2291 ext. 450.
What if someone in my group has a medical emergency while I’m there?
While Frost Valley will not have medical personnel onsite, we will provide you with a list of emergency numbers for hospitals and healthcare centers in the area.
Will I be refunded if my program is cancelled by Frost Valley or a governing agency?
Frost Valley, like many nonprofit organizations, is currently experiencing significant hardships in addition to those already realized. Second only to everyone’s health and safety, we aim to provide financial assistance for guests when we re-open, fund our overhead so that camp is fully ready to serve children and families in the future, and continue to offer life-changing outdoor educational and recreational programs for all. However, we recognize families across the nation are also bracing for their own challenges.
If your program or reservation is cancelled by Frost Valley or a governing agency, please choose from one of the following options:
- Kindly donate funds already paid. Please call the Reservations Department at (845) 985-2291 ext. 450 to discuss how you can receive a tax receipt for your thoughtful and generous gift. Thank you!
- Save the funds as a credit to be used in the future:
- You can choose another date or program, and we’ll hold your spot
- We’ll hold the credit in your account (good for 2 years from your scheduled visit)
- Or receive a full refund for the amount paid. Refund checks should arrive in the mail in about 6-8 weeks.
Will I be refunded if I choose to cancel my reservation?
In general, when a guest or program participant chooses to cancel, they will not receive a refund. Please call our Reservations Department at 845-985-2291 ext. 450 so that we can understand your circumstances.
