Its the very first day of summer camp 2010 and already you can feel the magic in the air!
On this important day everyone pitches in to help in the check-in process (CiT’s work alongside of our Activity Counselors under the luggage tent).
Camp Henry Hird’s first meal of the session was pizza a camp favorite! The directors gave out important information (Being careful not to declare them announcements…which often leads to 5 to 10 minutes worth of songs) to the staff and campers about the in’s and out’s of our dining hall. After the meal everyone went back to their respective villages to do some quick icebreakers then we moved on to the opening campfire on Castle lawn. We were accompanied by Al Filreis and Sandy Bohn (Camp Mom) along with all of the Hird! Elizabeth Logue (The Assistant Hird Director!) kicked things off, skits were shared, songs were sung and everyone had a wonderful time around our blazing campfire!
Just as the sun was setting the villages were dismissed and headed back to their respective cabins to enjoy an evening of icebreakers!
What an amazing way to begin the summer!
