AdVill, get ready, get set…
Today was a very hot day, filled with some hard work for our Village as they prepared to go out on their mini-trips tomorrow. The Village will split into four groups tomorrow afternoon, one group will settle in near the Shawangunks for some of the best climbing on the east coast. They will be right next door to our biking trip, who will be exploring Mohonk and Minnewaska Preserves. Our last, very lucky group will be the first group ever to canoe recreationally on the Pepacton reservoir!
All work and no play would be no fun at all, so of course AdVill made some time in their day to go creeking, paint their counselors (an all time favorite activity) and play in the sun during hangout. We were lucky enough to still be on camp for a traditional Frost Valley style spaghetti night, where no utensils are allowed! Tonight’s evening activity was the beloved camp dance, where some campers and counselors look forward to getting dressed up for once, and others take advantage of making an appearance in a silly outfit or costume!
Please note the blog and smugmug site will not be updated again until Wednesday night when the mini-trips return!

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
