Last night Adventure Village journeyed out to the great beyond for their overnight. Guys took a hike out along our Pigeon Brook Trail to renovate some old campsites that haven’t been used in quite a number of years while our ladies took to the hill and worked on improving Adventure’s very own campsite – Project X. After eating bagels out on the trail, everyone headed back to their village to shower and spend some time with their tent groups before lunch.
Lunch came and went, followed by an epic game of capture the flag against our friendly rivals in Hemlock Village (resident camp’s 13-year-old boys) and some time for an afternoon rendition of Challenge Night. Breaking into groups, campers competed for such things as the smelliest shoe and best counselor impersonations. Waterfront or creeking came next – which was just in time for the some rain to hit the valley.
Finally, our campers started packing up their gear and belongings to head on out to the mini-trips tomorrow. Despite the rainy forecast, campers are pumped to be getting off camp and involved in canoeing, backpacking, biking or climbing until Wednesday. Our final evening activity before everyone heads out tomorrow is the Saturday Night Dance in which are campers are currently creating costumes for as I write!
