Frost Valley is buzzing with excitement after an amazing first full day of camp.  Summer Camp 2010 has finally begun!  Nothing beats the sounds of campers having fun.

Last night, Adventure Village kicked off the summer with opening campfire.  The event takes place at a secret location in the woods where campers are given secret names.  Oops I have already said too much…  The fire was followed by a story in the castle.  “So what is Garcia?”

The thunderstorms held off today, even though it looked like we were going to get wet for most of the day.  The morning was filled with a hike across our many cable bridges and team-building activities on our low ropes course.

The afternoon was filled with the climbing tower, zip-line, and the Giant’s Swing.  You could say, that everyone reached new heights!

A cool dip in the lake was well deserved after a very hot and muggy afternoon.  Everyone is excited to see what mini-trip that they will be going on.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
