First Full Day at East Valley Ranch!!!
The first full day of East Valley Ranch, session A is complete! The girls had a great day and made the most of the sunshine! We started the day off with flag raising, where the girls told us what they are thankful for as we raised the flag. After breakfast we had arts and crafts, which was spent decorating their yurts – paper chains, glitter, and posters EVERYWHERE (pictures to be uploaded soon). Then they were welcomed in to our beautiful new barn, introduced to all the ponies, and taught how to lead, tie, groom and tack – all before lunch. After lunch, the girls had rest hour to relax, write letters and prepare for their riding evaluations! The evaluations went so well. Everyone enjoyed themselves, the girls fell in love with the ponies, and we saw some pretty awesome riding skills too. To finish off the riding portion of the day we went on a small trail ride through ‘Sheriff’s Shortcut’ – a beautiful trail running alongside the river, through the forest. After dinner, our evening program for the first day was ‘paper bag skits’ – the girls were split in to small groups and given a bag filled with an all kinds of random items which they had to include in their skit, later to be performed to the staff members and the rest of the groups!
All in all – the first full day at EVR was AMAZING!! <3 EVR
