After their time biking, the Maine Coast crew has moved on to rock climbing. They spent the last 2 days with Acadia Mountain Guides climbing in Acadia National Park, including a day in the famed Otter Cliffs area.
Everyone has been pushing their limits as they tackled a variety of climbs, rappels, and traverses. Claire topped a 5.8 at Otter Cliffs which is no small feat for anyone. Alan rappelled down the cliffs and gave it everything on the climb back up. Nicole added to her badges of courage while she perfected a difficult move. Evan was the Leader of the Day and did a great job keeping the group organized and making some important decisions. Besides climbing, Conor has been keeping everyone entertained some old school songs and odd stories about eating dog food. Max has been rocking an interesting hat, but donned the helmet for the day and gave the camera a rather clear opinion of the day’s activity.
According to Todd, Anne has been the a “little bouldering monkey,” finding holds where holds shouldn’t be found. She also enjoyed the tyrolean traverse later in the day.
After their second day of climbing, the crew stopped by the kayak outfitter to pick up their dry bags. They’ll be all packed up in the morning as they head out on their 4-day sea kayak voyage. Check back late Wednesday for another update when they get back to shore.
