It’s always a little sad to see the summer end. It’s been a great time of exploration and growth for Frost Valley YMCA’s day campers. This year, Frost Valley served over 1,000 children collectively through all of its day camps.
The day campers explored pond ecology, expressed themselves through art, challenged their limitations with rock climbing and ropes courses, learned how to cook healthy foods, played games, and went boating and swimming in Lake Cole. They also made friendships and memories they will cherish for years to come.
“I love Frost Valley Day Camp because our days are very busy with really fun activities,” says a Day Camper in the Tri-Valley School District. “I learned how to include everyone and be a good friend. I also learned about Frost Valley’s eight core values,” says a Day Camper in the Fallsburg Central School District.
While summer may be ending, there are some great upcoming community events for families to enjoy. On September 30, 2018, Frost Valley will be hosting a free Fall Farm Day from 1-4 p.m. at its educational farm, which is located at 2875 Denning Road in Claryville. On October 6, 2018, Frost Valley will be running a fun children’s obstacle course at The Daniel Pierce Library’s Giant Pumpkin Party at the fairgrounds on Route 55 in Grahamsville. Frost Valley is hosting a Halloween Community Day on October 27, 2018 between 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
All events are aimed at providing educational and recreational activities for families that promote a healthy lifestyle, while also providing ample opportunities for family bonding. Visit Frost Valley’s Community Days page at www.frostvalley.org/communitydays for more information.
Frost Valley will also be offering a School-age Child Care program for children in Tri-Valley Elementary School for parents in need of quality child care after school until 5:45 p.m. With only 10 remaining spots available, families who are interested in registering their child should call 845-985-2291 right away to ensure their child’s spot.
