This season I asked staff to write a short bio of themselves to share with everyone so to be fair I would like to share a little about myself to start!
I am Kam Kobeissi, I’ve been working for Frost Valley year round for five years. I started my summer camp career as the Photography teacher and became a PAC counselor for the second half of that summer (2006). I quickly began working as a Program Instructor for the Environmental Education Department and Conferencing department between each season until 2009. I worked as an Assistant Program Director the following summer (2007) where I met my wife Heather Bowman (Asst. Wawayanda Director). The following season I worked as the Asst. Adventure Director under Kevin Terrell (2008). The next season I began my year round career as Frost Valleys Director of Camp Henry Hird (2009-Until Present). I married Heather in April of 2010 and have been the steward of the older half of camp for 3 seasons now. Before Frost Valley I was both a participant & volunteer for the YMCA Teen Leaders program in south eastern Pennsylvania (12 y/o – 21 y/o).
Allow me to introduce Mia DeSimone, she is working in Sacky village (girls aged 13) this summer:
Hi! I’m Mia DeSimone, a freshman at George Washington University in Washington, DC. I am interested in Sociology and Communications. IH ave spent the past two summers working at Frost Valley and it has been the best experience ever! Prior to working at FV I worked at a local tutoring center in my town with kids ages 5 to 16. I also worked at the adult night school in my town. I decided to work at Frost Valley because of all the amazing memories it gave me as a child. It is now my job to pass on and make those same wonderful memories with all of my campers!
