West Virginia White Water Rafting

Rafting, biking, caving and to the lake and beyond!  Our group has spent another day in the water – this time on the big 16 foot rafts and tackled another section of the river.  They also biked for part of a day which campers enjoyed especially because of all the down hill they got to do!  They also had an opportunty to check-out an old town along the route, see some waterfalls and bike over some bridges.  Caving also went well – everyone made it through with flying colors!  Some tighter sections challenged campers, and they all walked away covered in mud head to toe (who doesn’t love mud – makes everything fun!)!!  Today was their rest day so the group decided to sleep in and make pancakes in the morning.  After that they headed over to the lake to swim and play volleyball.  Dinner out at Pizza Hut was great, followed by a campfire this evening.

Everyone is looking forward to climbing tomorrow and the rafting overnight Tuesday and Wednesday!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
