Windsong & Pac OVERNIGHTS!

windsong1One of my favorite parts of my job as a camp director is getting to visit overnight sights! Especially when it’s the oldest villages!

I feel its one of the most memorable parts of the Windsong & Pac experience! The bonds and friendships made on these overnights will carry on well into adulthood.

Both Emma and I visited Windsongs overnight at Pine Grove. We got there just in time to see all the girls

sitting around the fire exchanging stories about their  summer camp experiences so far. Hours before they had solo’s, then reflection & delicious chicken fajitas (a typical FV overnight meal, maybe not so typical anywhere else). The ladies were in good sprits and we had fun spending a short time with themand being a small part of an important bonding trip.

Next we jumped back into our FV vehicle and made our way to Merrills (aka Pete’s) Pavilion to see what the Pac boys were up to. A pretty steep uphill walk brought us to Pete’s just in time to see the sun set with the boys (what good timing!) They were also finishing up their meal and had a pretty similar experience as the Windsong Girls except they all were enjoying grilled cheeseburgers/Veggie burgers (the vegan cheese wasn’t bad either). Before we left we watched the sun go down over Doubletop Mountain, then both Emma and I walked back to the van and drove back home to the Valley.
