The Health & Wellness of our Guests is our Top Priority
The Guenther Family Wellness Center, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility located on the main camp, is staffed by EMT’s and nurses. The health and well-being of Frost Valley YMCA’s guests is the main priority for this team of dedicated medical professionals who are equipped to handle medical needs. Should there even be a need, there are hospitals and urgent care facilities within 45 minutes of Frost Valley.
The Guenther Family Wellness Center was dedicated in September 2008 by Congressman Maurice Hinchey, Paul Guenther and his family, and a host of Frost Valley YMCA friends, family, and supporters. The new building replaced the old Smith Lodge which served for decades as the camp infirmary. The Wellness Center quickly became the hub it was envisioned to be, serving the medical needs of thousands of children and playing a role in the health and wellness goals of our campers, guests, staff, and the larger Frost Valley community. The top floor of the state-of-the-art healthcare facility is equipped with multiple treatment rooms, recovery rooms and a trauma room. The ground floor is home to a number of work and play spaces, including a toddler room, arts and crafts studio, theatre space, and nature room.

East Valley Health Services
East Valley Ranch staff are all trained in first aid and CPR. Emergency medical care is available within a 30-minute drive for guests staying at EVR during the spring, winter, or fall.
During the summer months, East Valley Ranch and the Farm have their own infirmary equipped to handle immediate medical needs. A licensed RN or EMT and Wilderness First Responder live on-site and are trained to treat campers’ needs for medication, emergency care, and general health. The Farm and East Valley Ranch facilities share a small wellness center between the two sites where an EMT is on duty 24/7 and a nurse is on duty. If there are any major issues that cannot be adequately dealt with on-site, campers can be transported to the Guenther Family Wellness Center located on the Main Camp, expanding our ability to isolate children with potentially contagious infections.
