Hello Adventure Village

Hello FV Adventure Village Parents and Campers!

Let me first say Welcome to Adventure Village!  I am extraordinarily excited to have you all be a part of this new Frost Valley experience.  As Director of the program you will be hearing from me a fair amount over the next six months, sometimes introducing you to the bios of the staff of the village, and other times sending out friendly reminders of paperwork needed and miscellaneous other logistics.  During the summer, when the kids are here having the time of their lives, I will also send parents an email every few days.  These emails during the session tend to be only the beginnings of stories and pointed questions for you to ask with the hope that when the kids come home you can ask things  that trigger 30 minute enthusiastic explanations rather than just a 3 second  “It was great!”.   Also, I am sincere when I invite you all to reach out to me at anytime with any questions, concerns or just to say hello.

A little about me, Brian Sense:

My first camp experience was as a counselor in Arizona in 1994.  I came to Frost Valley for the first time in 1997 and fell in love with what this place is but had no idea I would eventually be making my career here.   From ’97-2004, Frost Valley became where I came to work on vacation from my “real jobs”.   During that time period I was primarily working with struggling teens in boarding schools, treatment centers and wilderness programs.  The last 3 years however have been some of the most fulfilling working at Frost Valley year round as the Adventure and Team Leadership Director, in charge of teen trips, adult conferences, teambuilding retreats and all things fun and adventure!  I am an avid snowboarder, backpacker, climber, recently avid mountain boarder, and anything else out doors and full of adventure.

Once again, welcome, and thank you for being a part of Adventure Village!  But before I end this email, I have a request:  I need camper t-shirt sizes.  If you would be so kind as to send me an email with your campers size it would be very helpful as well as verify that I have your correct email so I can make sure you are receiving these updates.

Thanks,

Brian

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
