Shawn Blagmon is Named Employee of the Month

Shawn Blagmon has been Frost Valley’s Partnerships Director since 2022; however, his journey working with Frost Valley YMCA began in 1999 as a camper. His favorite memory at camp is having been able to participate in a specialty program called Radio. When Frost Valley used to have a radio station that ran out of Margetts twice a session, campers would be allowed to run the station for a week. It was his favorite thing to do! Shawn thinks Frost Valley as an organization is important because working here as helped him expand his advocacy skills for people with disabilities like himself. Children on dialysis need voices other than their doctors – he hopes that he can be that voice. Shawn sees Gender Inclusivity as the DIG practice with which we have made the greatest strides. He sees Frost Valley starting the shift into making these great changes. Congratulations on winning Employee of the Month!
