Are the lodges heated?

Yes. Most of our lodges have radiant floor heat and the cabins have forced hot air.

Do they have wood stoves?

No.

Can I control the heat?

Only in the Lakeview Lodge rooms.

Are the lodges air-conditioned?

No, it rarely gets hot enough in the Catskills for air conditioning.

What are the beds like?

All beds are bunk style except for those in the Lakeview Lodge, Friendship House, Fly Fishing Cottage and the Castle.

Do the rooms have private baths?

It depends on the lodge that you reserve. Rooms in our motel-style Lodges, Lakeview Lodge and the Friendship House have private baths.

Do the lodges have fireplaces/fire rings?

All of our lodges have outdoor fire rings.

Biscuit Lodge, Hayden Lodge, Turrell Lodge, Hyde Watson Lodge, Kresge Lodge, Quirk Lodge and Lakeview Lodge also have indoor fire places.

Do the doors lock?

You can lock your self inside a room once you are in it, however all of our bunk-style rooms do not have keys to lock them once you leave. Lakeview Lodge and the Fly Fishing cottage do have keys.

Are the lodges handicap accessible?

The downstairs rooms of Hussey Lodge, Scott, Wolff, Neversink, Hyde Watson, Kresge, Quirk and Lakeview Lodge are handicap accessible.

How far a walk is it the program areas?

It depends on the activity. Most lodges are equi-distant from the program areas and the Dining Hall, about a 5-10 minute walk.

Can you park by the lodge?

All lodges include parking. If you have a large group with many cars, it’s possible that you might have to find alternate parking in the lot by the lake or by the Welcome Center.

How close together are the lodges?

Our lodges are not on top of each other. It is equivalent to a suburban neighborhood.

Do the rooms have hair dryers?

No.

Do the rooms come with bed linens?

Lakeview Lodge, the Friendship House, the Fly Fishing Cottage and the Castle are all supplied with bed linens and towels. All other beds are supplied with a blanket and pillow. You can order bed sheets and bath towels from the Reservations Department when you make your reservation, or at any time prior to check in.

How old are the lodges?

Some of our lodges are renovated buildings that were original to the property when the Y acquired it in 1956. Most were built within the last 20 years.

Can I put a cot in the room?

Frost Valley has measured all of the rooms for cots based on the fire code. Please check with the Reservations Department for specific information about which rooms can have cots.

Can we put someone on the floor in an inflatable mattress?

No, this breaks the fire code.

How many do the lodges sleep?
