Maine Trail Builders

Our campers enjoyed another day of work since their last check-in, continuing to clear out the vista sites on the carriage roads.  Chopping branches and twigs and pulling brush aside has been a majority of the work, and they are super excited that the mini-bus gets to ride the carriage roads.

They then had a few days of recreation activities to give them a brief break from all that hard work.  Biking went really well for the group with over 20 miles completed in a day!  The group loved riding up and down the hills and no feat was too difficult for this group.  Climbing was wet today, but the group got a few solid climbs in this morning before heading out early in the afternoon to get dry.  They are looking forward to continuing work tomorrow and spending another week in each other’s company.

They will be checking back in Wednesday evening!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
