More on Opening Campfire…

….for Camp Henry Hird!

Opening campfire began with a whole lot of cheering the large bond fire provided by Windsong, and a challenge from Kam Kobeissi, Director of Camp Henry Hird, “Make a new friend with someone you wouldn’t normally make friends with! Find out you have in common and then talk about those things you don’t you will be amazed at the kind of amazing people you go to camp with!” Then campfire started in full swing! With all of camp Henry Hird sitting on castle lawn under each VC came up to the fire and introduced their cabin counselors and program staff! They put on several skits; the most notable skits of the evening was a presentation by Anthony the MAC Boys VC whom putt on an impromptu dance party using a drum and a counselor who can beat box like a pro, another was Marissa’s the Tacoma VC ‘s presentation of how the Tacoma Machine works! With each one of her staff being part of a giant machine offering a sound and hand motion, this display came complete with steam (Can of Off) as well as a great rhythmic display utilizing steal Sigg bottles and sticks! Wrapping up the campfire was a song by Al Filreis, one of our amazing Alumni/Volunteers with the help of Lexi Carriello (MAC Director, Vocals), Chris Harper (Director of CIT’s, Vocals) and Jeremy Deitz (Camp Superhero, on Drums).  It was a beautiful clear summer night and a great way to start Session 2, with songs and cheers echoing off of the mountains in the greatest Valley of the Catskills.
