Mustang and Durango session 2

Hi everyone,

Mustang and Durango are all unpacked and have settled in great to camp life. After everyone had arrived the campers played some introduction games to get to know each other. The campers then make there way up to the dinning hall for a pizza dinner, before going opening campfire by lake Cole. The campers enjoyed watching skits that the counsellors had prepared and learnt new songs and chant. Everyone enjoyed watching and laughing at the skits and meeting people from other villages at the campfire.

Monday the campers headed down to waterfront for their orientations and swim checks. They enjoyed splashing and playing in the water before completing their swim checks. After waterfront the campers joined together to play some more introduction games to get to know each other further.

Mustang and Durango have been spending their afternoons in the barn. After evaluation rides on Monday the campers were matched with their horses. This week during their time at the barn the kids have learnt how to manoeuvre their assigned horses, how to tack them and how to identify breeds.

During this week we’ve also done some additional activities around camp. The campers were able to do candle making. In candle making they enjoyed using their creativity and moulding the wax into different shapes (such as hearts and animals) and experimenting with colours. The campers also got the chance to meet new people and interact with other villages; joining wawayanda(the younger campers of camp) to play USB (ultimate sicko ball). On Tuesday night, mustang and Durango cheered each other on during archery,  with each arrow improving their aim.
