And Let Winter Camp Begin!!

It all started with our staff coming up the night before to reunite and plan for the week. We broke into our activity groups and planned activities for all the campers for the rest of the week!

After the planning stages were finished, we waited in anticipation for the campers to make their way back up to Frost Valley YMCA. There was so much excitement in the room after the first group of campers showed up.

Once all the campers arrived and was settled in, we got into our groups and started our day. Some prepared for the Snowpocalypse by learning outdoor living skills, while others took in the brisk fresh winter air on a hike across our cable bridge.

We then celebrated being back together with our opening campfire filled with skits, songs and jokes! It’s so great to have camp filled with campers and staff to continue growing the life long friendships that were created from summers past.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
