The sun was shining bright again all day at camp with not a cloud in the sky and everyone from the Hird was back from their overnights. At this point in the session everyone has slept under the stars, eaten pita pizzas and smores around a campfire, and appreciated our beautiful natural surroundings.
We had a lot of fun activities happen throughout the day! Pac spent some time at Reflection Pond learning about the ecology of our waterways and finding some really impressive salamanders and insects.
Hemlock got a tour of the Forstmann Castle that we have on property. The castle celebrated it’s 100 years this past year and is an awesome place to learn about the history of the Catskills and the US north east.
Windsong did a meditation/discussion based activity with Al called Put Your Mother On The Ceiling. It was a great combination of relaxing and also getting to know everyone else in the village.
Lenape got to meet and talk to KC Johnson, a Frost Valley Alumni who was a staff member here for many years and came to volunteer for a week. KC is an animator on The Simpsons and explained to the campers the process that goes into making an episode of the show. KC also ran specialties and activities with other campers related to animation and drawing, we are so thankful that KC came to visit!
Some Hemlock campers were also spotted in the Dining Hall playing a variation on dodgeball that included pool noodles.
All in all it was another great day at Frost Valley!
