Farm Camp Session Two
Where has the time gone? There is only one week of camp left!
Over the last two days we have wrapped up our specialties and prepared for the weekend. Some of the activities have included:
Meditation
Goat Snuggling
Cable Bridge Hike
Clothing Customization
Castle Building
Berry Picking
Soccer
Garlic Cleaning & Peeling
This morning our lovely FiTs returned from their five day hike. Sweaty, stinky, exhausted… but also proud and accomplished!
This afternoon everyone left for their overnights. This is a night where campers and counselors hike out to a Frost Valley campsite and they cook pizza and s’mores over a fire and they sleep under the stars. The yurts divided up and went to a few different locations:
Yurts 1, 2: Ladleton
Yurts 3, 4: Butterknife Ruins
Yurts 6, 7, 8: Pinegrove
Tomorrow we will do an all-camp theme day. Campers will learn the theme at breakfast when they return from their overnights. Then the whole day will involve activities based on the theme. Since the campers won’t find out until tomorrow, we will keep it a mystery until the next blog post.
On Sunday we will celebrate and partake in something we call Harvest Day. It is a Farm Camp tradition that happens on the Sunday of every session. Campers and counselors will use our farm fresh food to prepare a big feast that the whole camp will enjoy together. We typically eat outside and enjoy spending time together as a community.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
