Farm Camp – Welcome to Week Two!
Today was an exciting day for new programs, campers signed up for new specialty classes, which included: hiking, nature art and outdoor living skills. In the afternoon, we also had some slip n’slide fun followed by a barbecue and homemade ice cream! For snack, we had farm fresh, strawberry rhubarb popsicles, they were delicious.
This evening, we had a full East Valley Challenge Night! The East Valley Ranch campers joined us in our Dining Hall for an evening of challenges and friendly competition.
As promised, here was the menu from our Harvest Day, all the main ingredients were farm fresh, and everything was made by our campers: beef chili, vegan chili, sour dough bread, pesto, two different salads with homemade dressings, kale chips (in three varieties: spicy, sweet and original), broccoli stir-fry and quiche.
It was a delicious meal, and it was made even more sweet by our outdoor communal table as pictured above.
We had an awesome day, can’t wait for tomorrow!
