Mustang – Bareback Riding!!

The Mustang girls had an epic 4th of July weekend, we celebrated by making banana boats, which the girls thoroughly enjoyed making not just eating!!

They also got to ride their horses bareback (with no saddle) which is really important in improving their riding because it enables the children to feel the muscles of the horse moving as they are walking. It also encourages them to work on their balance which helps both in and out of the saddle! The girls really enjoyed it and did an awesome job!

On saturday evening the girls did a night hike and played a really popular camp game called camouflage, which is basically hide and go seek in the woods. They got to hike across the cable bridge which they thought was really cool and just generally get muddy which is what camp is about!!

On sunday, the girls finally had the opportunity for a much needed sleep in! They slept until about 9.30 and then had brunch at 10, which involved waffles and ice cream! They then had morning reflection which is a time to reflect on the week an what everyone on camp had been up to. During the afternoon, the girls got to watch the staff soccer match and then attend the ‘it’s a small world’ carnival where members of staff from around the world set up booths on the field to show parts of their culture. The girls had a great time wandering round and learning about the different cultures.

During the evening, they had Frost Valley’s got talent where some campers from each village got to show off their skills, some of our girls danced to watch me whip, they were awesome!

Today the girls enjoyed getting to try out the rock climbing tower, and also waterfront. They are currently on their horses and having awesome riding lessons!!
