Settling into the Farm Camp Routine
Farm Camp is not only a recreational experience, but it’s a working one too! We are so lucky to live and play on a functioning farm, but all this fun comes with responsibility. It’s up to us to maintain the farm, including livestock care, garden maintenance and camp cleanliness! So, we do daily chores in the morning and the evening. Everyday, campers do chores in the garden, barn, art barn, dining hall, chicken coop and more! Barn chores include mucking stalls, feeding the animals and milking the goats! I know that today in garden chores, our campers were picking copious amounts of berries. The chores are on a daily rotation, so everyone will get to do every chore while they are here.
Today, all activities are in full swing. We beat the heat at waterfront, made friendships bracelets at campers choice, and tonight campers are playing French Revolution. During French Revolution, campers crawl and hide in the woods in order to get to a goal area without getting caught by their counselors!
We had a great day, can’t wait for tomorrow!
