We hope you had a wonderful summer! We have news about our camp program to share with you. After 24 summers at Frost Valley, our Director of Camping Services Dan Weir and his family will be returning to Long Island. Thanks to his advocacy for youth at both the state and federal level, his dedication as an American Camp Association chapter board member, as well as countless other accomplishments, Dan has developed an incredibly strong camp model for his successor.

We’re pleased to announce that Zach Eigenbrodt will be Frost Valley’s new Director of Camping Services. Zach, too, has an impressive career in the field of camping. Born and raised in Fond du Lac, WI, Zach couldn’t get enough of the woods when he was growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and discovered a passion for exploring the outdoors with kids. The smiles on their faces after returning from a once-in-a-life time wilderness experience is why he has made this field his career. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Serving in this role for the last five years, he has grown the Adventure Camp program to now serve more youth than ever before. Frost Valley is so fortunate to have Zach stepping into this new role.

We wish Dan Weir and his family all the best of luck and we’re excited to see the work he will contribute to the YMCA of Long Island! We know this isn’t “goodbye” to Dan, and just “so long for now.” As an alumni, Dan will surely remain closely connected to our Frost Valley community.

If you have any questions or would like to speak with Zach, please give him a call when he settles fully into his new office on Sept 11, 2019. He can be reached at 845-985-2291 ext. 265 or by email at zeigenbrodt@frostvalley.org
