SESSION 3: THE PLACE TO BE

Session 3 has gotten off to a soaring start. On Sunday night Camp Henry Hird enjoyed a campfire at the dining hall. Songs were sang and skits were performed. Campers have spent the last couple of days getting to know each other and learning the ropes here at Frost Valley.

Some highlights from the last few days:

Sacky/Hemlock: Banana olympics! This game is a very loose interpretation of the actual olympics. Campers split into teams and each team gets a banana to be their “athlete” for various challenges. At the end of the activity, bananas get different awards such as most damaged, least damaged, and most challenges won! If this does not capture the spirit of camp, I am not sure what does.

Tacoma/ Lenape: Slip n’ slide! Soap, a big blue slide laid out on the grass, and a hose… these simple things are all you need to have the best activity period ever. We have had heat and humidity over the last few days so this activity was welcomed with open arms.

PAC/ Windsong: PacSong headed out for their two night overnight today. They will cover 13 miles of trails and they will experience incredible sunsets and bright stars. They will also be cooking their meals over a campfire and enjoying bonding as a group.

CiTs: Two CiT groups began their hikes on Monday and Tuesday. Their hikes will be five nights, six days, and many miles of rewarding hiking. The other two groups have begun a week of trainings and lessons with various staff members. They will learn some of the behind the scenes elements of being a counselor!

We hope you are having just as much fun as we are!
