Teen Adventure Trips have returned!

Habitat for Humanity

Back from their 2 weeks of hard work, these campers are full of pride after spending a portion of their summer helping those who are in need of support.  They can go home with sore muscles and smiling faces, knowing that a portion of their summer was spent doing what matters most in life: helping those who are not in a position to be able to help themselves.  With that in mind, they can move on from camp feeling good about the things they’ve accomplished.

Maine Coast

Fresh off of their kayaking overnight, the group from Maine Coast waved goodbye to the beautiful landscape by the waters of Maine and are back here on camp, ready to tell the stories of their adventures.  From Rock Climbing to Sea Kayaking, these campers got to see and experience things that will help them grow into well rounded individuals, ready to take on any challenge this coming year has for them.  Tanned faces will soon greet excited parents, and we’re sure the car and bus rides home will be filled with the stories from the Maine Coast.

ADK Hike and Climb

Driving out of the High Peaks Wilderness Area, the campers on this trip are leaving behind some of the most beautiful sights one can find on the east coast.  Experiencing it through not only hiking, but also scaling the sides of the peaks that make for such an amazing landscape, these campers got a view of New York’s most beautiful mountain range that many people don’t.  Back on camp and freshly showered, these kids are excited to tell the tale of their adventures.

WVWW

Climbing, Caving and Rafting, Oh My!  The group that left Frost Valley two weeks ago, heading for the hills of West Virginia, and back after a rafting overnight that will be material for awesome stories to tell their friends and family.  Waving goodbye to the ACE adventure resort that they called home for the past two weeks, the campers are safely back in New York and ready to face their next adventures to come!

White Mountains

Back on camp, backs sore from their backpacks, arms sore from climbing, but minds full of new information and faces full of smiles is what marks the return of our White Mountains Hike and Climb Trip.  After conquering the intimidating walls of the White Mountains, and leaving nothing but footprints and taking nothing but memories on their trails, the campers who participated on the White Mountains trip are so excited to share their experience with their fellow trips campers.  This group had an incredible time, and have come back to camp stronger and feeling more capable than before, ready to head home with a new outlook on what adventure means to them.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
