Teen Adventures Trips have Returned!

Maine Trail Builders

Acadia National Park welcomed back another frost valley group, this time to spend 2 weeks building, improving and maintaining trails in some of the most beautiful wilderness that can be found on the east coast.  The campers are sleeping soundly after long afternoon of hard work, and are soon heading home knowing that the 2 weeks of work they’re leaving behind will be utilized and appreciated by many people in the years to come!

Vermont Voyager

After hitting the waters of Lake Champlain, right on the outskirts of the wonderful city of Burlington, VT, our campers coming home from the Vermont Voyagers are coming home with the sun on their backs, and tired arms after 2 weeks of learning to sail and kayak.  Smiling, tan faces greeted us as they got off the bus, and the campers are super excited to head home with the stories of their last 2 weeks to tell their friends and families.

Adirondack Paddlers

The campers who participated in the Adirondack Paddlers trip are back at camp and full of great stories from their trip.  From canoeing one of the most beautiful rivers the Adirondack wilderness has to offer, and moving on to kayaking the pristine waters of Tupper Lake, these campers had the time of their lives.  Many returned much more knowledgeable on the finer techniques of water sports, and are ready to get home to share with their loved ones the amazing time they had!

Long Trail Backpacking Experience

8 Days.  52 Miles.  The 3 campers who signed up for a trip to hike along the much renowned Long Trail left their sweat along every mile of the trail, and we could not be more excited for them to be back.  Hiking every day, these 3 campers are filled with amazing stories from their experience, and are ready to return home to take on the coming school year with the confidence and ability they’ve gained during their time on the trail.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
