The Animals
Hi everyone, I’m Carlie, one of the counselors who is in charge of animal classes at the barn here at frost valley. Jo (the other counselor in the barn) and I have been really excited about working with all the kids and coming up with lessons for them. So far we have covered cows (both beef and dairy), sheep, goats and today we went over rabbits and poultry. The kids have been helping out with chores every morning and evening and have been doing a great job. The kids who are in the animal care classes this week had a chance to catch chickens today and next week in our advanced classes we are going to have a mock livestock auction where the kids can buy and sell animals! The campers from last session really enjoyed it so we are going to continue with that as part of our lesson plans.
