the start of LAST SESSION!
Howdy!
I haven’t checked in here in a while – figured I’d give everyone a heads up on how everything is going! 4th Session has already had an amazing start! Though yesterday was kind of rainy we had a smooth check in and all the campers got settled in before our favorite dinner – Pizza Night!
We played team games & got to know each other a little bit after dinner. Our traditional first evening program is a Campfire and that was awesome! Some of our returning campers shared some typical Farm Camp songs like the “Announcement” song, the “Okay!” song and the “Alright” song. We danced around, laughed and had a great time learning some fun new songs.
One of the things we did at the end of the campfire, which is new this year at Farm Camp, is matching up into a buddy system. I asked all the returning campers (either from previous years or earlier this summer) to be a buddy to a new farm camper. This helps promote a larger community outside of the yurt families and helps all the campers share their experiences with a new friend at camp!
Today was our first full day of classes and the kids seemed to enjoy it! They all are required to take Beginning Animal Care and Beginning Gardening, but as you saw at check-in, they have other fun options this session like Hiking, Arts & Crafts, Sports and Theatre. Next week they will be allowed to try some more advanced classes, but we’ll tell you about them later.
