The Teen Adventure Trips are Back!

Everyone is back from their trips and getting ready to go finish the session! Pictures should be up on Smugmug by the end of the day. Here are some updates from the trips:

ADK Hike and Climb

After spending the last 2 weeks experiencing all that the Adirondack Mountain Range has to offer climbers and hikers, our 3 campers have returned back to camp with mud on their boots and stories to tell.  The campers who left on the trip 14 days ago return to us with newfound backing packing, rock climbing, and leadership skills that are ready to be brought home with their bags and help them tackle their coming year!

Maine Coast

The beautiful coast of Maine is best experienced on cliff side and in a kayak, so that’s exactly what the participants of the Main Coast trip did.  Rappelling down seawalls, climbing back up, and crossing expanses on anchored ropes is just a taste of what these campers got to do their first week, which was followed by touring the one of the most beautiful coasts in the country from the comfort of their sea kayaks!  Back at camp with just as much energy as they left with, the Main Coast trip was undoubtedly an experience they’ll never forget.

WVWW

Caving, Climbing, Rafting and Mud Races is what the campers who signed up for the West Virginia White Water Trip got to spend their time doing over the course of the trip.  Staying at the beautiful Ace Resort Campgrounds, these campers got an experience of a lifetime at the hands of seasoned guides.  Listening to their stories, it’s definitely a trip that gives campers a unique opportunity to enjoy a variety of fun adventure activities that many will take home to become a part of their lives.

White Mountains Hike and Climb

Featuring Mt. Washington, the most prominent mountain east of the Mississippi, the campers who completed the White Mountains Hike and Climb trip got to view some of the most breathtaking landscapes one can get on the east coast.  Through Hiking up a 6,000 foot peak, to climbing with the esteemed Eastern Mountain Sports guiding company, these campers are coming back to camp happy, healthy, and with a sense of accomplishment that is hard pressed to find elsewhere.

Catskill Trail Builders

Being dropped off in the heart of the Catskills with nothing but their packs, hard hats, and trail work equipment, this small group of campers was ready to go from the start.  Working with a knowledgeable and helpful partner from the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, the campers on this trip got a chance to benefit not only themselves from the experiences they gained on this trip, but also the area and anyone who wishes to access the pristine Catskill Wilderness.  Coming back to camp these campers are tired, but able to feel proud of the work they did over the course of their trip.
