Vermont Voyager – Update
The first couple days in Vermont have been amazing. The group started out a little quiet, but as the activities began everyone started coming out of their shells.
On day one they hit the trail and hiked scenic Camel’s Hump Mountain. The hike was steep but the reward was worth it: promising dramatic views for miles.
Yesterday boasted the best ice cream in the country… Ben & Jerry’s! The whole group toured the factory and got free samples of some of Ben and Jerry’s. This was the groups free day and it is great to celebrate the 4th of July around beautiful Lake Champlain.
Last night the group was burnt out from a day of fun. But after some spontaneous motivation from one of the campers they rallied a trip out to see the fireworks. Burlington has some of the most magnificent fireworks around and the trip was totally worth it.
Today the Voyagers tackled the rocks. Ever camper got up on the climbs and experience amazing rock climbing. Sometimes rock climbing can feel a little scary for the climbing, especially if they are a little scared of heights. Each camper set goals and worked to challenge themselves appropriately with the climbing. Everyone ended up having a great time.
Tomorrow is another day on the rock! More updates to come soon!
