Virtual Hike For Frost Valley Creates Excitement For New Village Names
Morgan Theze, alumnus and former Camp Director is hosting the first ever Virtual Hike for Frost Valley on Earth Day – April 22nd, 2021!
The money raised through the Virtual Hike will be used to create excitement for Frost Valley’s new village names (which are named after different Catskill Mountains) and to provide campers with additional experiential learning opportunities for summer 2021 that will give them a deeper historical understanding of the colonized land and people of this region. These are not just new village names; they create an opportunity to start a dialogue with campers that will foster a greater appreciation for the land each village is now named after. The goal is also to raise enough money to provide each camper with their own village t-shirt.
People may participate by making a $50 donation and hiking one of 3 Hike Peaks Challenges (or any distance they want) or set up their own fundraising page and create teams. If you want to create some friendly some competition, compete in teams to support the village of your choice to see who’s village reins supreme and gets Frost Valley bragging rights.
