White Mountain Kayak and Climb – Update
The only thing that rivals the beauty of the White Mountains is the appetite of 6 teenage boys after a day of climbing.
The group of campers is gelling as a pack. They do everything together and no one is ever left behind.
On day one the group got right into it and started paving routs with Eastern Mountain Sports Climbing School. They did the same yesterday and today. Each evening they will return to the campsite to nurse their bumps and recover from a day of action.
Over the course of three days with professional instruction they should drastically improve their technique and skill as a climber. With this type of instruction they should all come out as climbers for life: and what better way to do so but with friends at camp!
The future holds a day of rest and then on to the next phase of the trip–white water kayaking!
Parents be prepared! These campers have been working on their funny accents. They may sound foreign when they return!

He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
