A Horse Program for Scouts in the Catskills! Get to know our horses! Learn about veterinary care, herd behavior, grooming, and nutrition. Enjoy a lesson and trail ride, as well as numerous non-equestrian activities. East Valley Ranch, just 14 miles from Main Camp, offers an inn-style lodge that sleeps up to 35 guests, as well as seasonal Mongolian yurts that sleep an additional 60 guests. East Valley Ranch offers a more private and personalized experience, and weekend per-person rates start at $219 for yurts and $274 for rooms in the lodge. All meals are included and served in our lodge’s charming dining room.

Learn more about Frost Valley’s COVID-19 updates here The Bowhunter Education course is required for first-time hunters to learn the necessary safety techniques and responsibilities using a gun, muzzleloader, crossbow or bow to pursue big game, small game, turkey, waterfowl and migratory game birds. If you wish to hunt during bow season, you must register for both hunter education and bowhunter education courses. Classes fill quickly!
