I had the opportunity to go on a lovely little hike with a cabin of Totem campers the other day. It was a beautiful day that meant the walk was sheltered by the sun by the evergreens but under the canopy it was still warm. We had fun checking out some of the plants and cool new parts of the trail. We rock painted and crossed over the cable bridge to get back.

There are so many amazing things about Frost Valley, but one of my favorites is the far reaching cultures, backgrounds and heritages that are brought together in this community. Campers, staff and volunteers come from all over the world to celebrate community here at Frost Valley, one way we put this out there is during our session 1 all camp, It’s A Small World! Our annual USA Vs The Rest of The World soccer match.   The Small World festival gives our staff a chance to share their culture with camp, counties represented have a booth and campers and staff can go around and learn about the country from the […]

Today I had the privilege of teaching Cabin 35 Architecture 101. We talked some professional vocabulary and some drawing techniques, then set off on our Architectural adventure. Starting off at the Y Tower we drew the amazing structure that it is and practiced some of the techniques of drawing. We then went over to the garden and starting working on our future proposals for the green house. We discussed some revolutionary proposals that included concrete walls, no doors and the housing of chickens in a sustainable fertilization system. The creative juices were flowing throughout and it was so great to see how detailed Cabin 35 made their drawings and annotated […]
