3 canoes on lake cole

OLS

AdVill started the day off right with a wonderful game of Geronimo!  Geronimo is a classic Frost Valley game where campers and staff get to know each a little better.  Afterwards, some campers really challenged themselves on our high ropes course and others got to explore the creek more, which includes splashing in the water, building dams, rock painting and looking for critters!

The afternoon was filled with learning and practicing Outdoor Living Skills or OLS.  The campers learned about basic outdoor survival, and then split into smaller groups had an epic fire building competition!  Then everyone got to cool off either in the creek or in Lake Cole.

Tonight, everyone will be decked out in their darkest outfits and some will even rub coals or paint all over their exposed skin in preparation for French Revolution!! A game of strategy where players try to sneak up on the guards in the dark without being seen or heard.  Even some of our most seasoned campers and staff still have not accomplished this goal.  Wish everyone good luck!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
