Session 3 is in Full Swing in Adventure Village!
Today was the first full day in Adventure Village and everyone was full of smiles. Our morning started off by picking out our trips. We send out 5 mini-trips at the beginning of next week and this is the time for each camper to let us know which trips they would like to be on. They have their choices from backpacking in the Catskills or Adirondacks, canoeing in the Adirondacks, or Climbing in the Gunks. After expressing their opinion they played a very popular game here at camp called Geronimo. Its a great way to get the kids to interact and get to know each other.
After lunch, we had a short spurt of bad weather where we had to come up with some creative games and activities inside. Some campers hung out in the nature room while others just were in the dining hall enjoying some creative writing. The weather did not last long and everyone was able to go back outside and play different hip pocket games.
We then enjoyed a wonderful dinner followed by another camp favorite evening game called French Revolution. This is a very popular game with the use of flashlight and some very stealthy campers trying not to be found.
With the weather looking up for the next week, we expect great spirits from all campers and staff too!

He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
