Coconut by way of a 2×4
Costa Rica Explorer
It has been a little buggy and rainy in the Costa, but today the sun came out and life was good. As I got the call from Mandy, she was eating a coconut that Alex had just broken open and pulled apart. His technique had something to do with a 2×4.
They spent some time visiting a local school, working with the turtles and eating incredibly well. The food is getting RAVE reviews as every meal is full of fresh fruit, eggs and bread.
I’m told that the kids are all getting along incredibly well, friendships are abound and the feeling of the once in a lifetime experience is being felt by them all.
We’ll be collecting and posting pictures and video as soon as they get back.
More to come…

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
