Habitat Maine: Going Wild!

Habitat Maine has officially just checked in!  The group is doing amazingly well.  Every one of the group members are participating 100%,  and everyone loves the work!  So far the group has built a dog fence, put up dry wall, built a porch and cleaned up some of the yard.  Yesterday, the group hung out with some of the volunteers, getting treated to spaghetti and s’mores (in addition to the cookies, cupcakes and cakes they get daily from volunteers and the house family alike!).

In their free time, the group has gone go carting and spent some time at the arcade.  The campsite is “gorgeous” and the group couldn’t talk for too long because they are just about to watch the new Harry Potter movie!  Participants are looking forward to biking tomorrow and are thinking about heading into Bar Harbor on their Free Day Monday.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
