Ramblers – Rambling Away

Whew!  Ramblers have been busy these last few days.  Since I last wrote, the group has completed their canoeing portion of the trip.  Everyone gained some new skills (and muscle!) in controlling the crafts and proper paddling techniques.  The views were great along the route and the camping areas were nice.  Yesterday and today everyone pulled on some climbing shoes, strapped on their helmets and climbed to new heights with the day’s activities!  The best part of the climbing portion?  Well, according to one camper, “balancing on absolutely nothing” (a.k.a. the rock wall) was well worth it!!  Currently, the group is back in the campground, preparing dinner and preparing for the final three days of activities…hiking in the Dacks (a.k.a. Adirondacks)!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
